With the Holidays quickly approaching, it's good to see everyone getting in the spirit! We had a fun surprise delivered to our inbox from Joseph Cusato, Sales & Marketing Manager at the Commander Hotel & Suites.
Twas the night before Christmas...
When all through the Commander Hotel
Not a guest was stirring,
All was well.
The beds were made by the housekeepers with care,
In hopes, that summer soon would be there.
Customers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Fractured Prune Doughnuts danced in their heads...
When out in the parking lot
There arose such a clatter,
Michael Hayes sprang from the office
To see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a flash,
Pushed open the door, then made a dash.
While the moonlight gave the luster of shimmer to objects below,
Just then - a flake here, a flake there - it began to snow
Then what to Michael's searching eyes did appear
But a giant truck delivering to Grotto Pizza before the end of the year
With a little old driver, so lively and quick!
Michaels' eyes raced to the ground for he worried it was slick.
The delivery man whistled
and sang a carol by heart
As he wheeled things in
swiftly on his cart.
Now Pat, now Suzanne, now Joseph, and John...
On Scott, on Joslyn, on Oather, and Micheal!
Out from the lobby to the back of the truck
Now hustle, now hustle!
They all chipped in, and did their part.
Christmas Spirit was strong in their heart.
As dry sand that before the wild hurricanes fly.
They helped a stranger
Meet his obstacle,
Seemingly mounting to the sky.
He kindly accepted and warmly thanked them.
Back in his truck, away he went.
A new friend was made,
good cheer was sent!
Still in the parking lot, in an instant from above,
They could see, they could hear
It was Old St. Nick
And a sleigh with eight reindeer.
Upon landing,
Looking with amazed eyes they gazed,
The reindeer stood steadfast on the boardwalk,
With Santa unfazed.
He unloaded gift after gift, toy after toy.
A single man was here spreading joy.
With Santa, Christmas was here again once more,
As always since many a year before.
One by one they whispered from behind a truck,
With the onset of the Polar vortex
Santa and his reindeer
Could be down on their luck.
They thought about this,
And thought about that.
Town was quiet, all was closed
But it was then from their hearts a great plan arose.
Now Pat, now Suzanne, now Joseph, and John...
On, Scott, on Joslyn, on Oather, and Micheal!
They ran to the Grotto Pizza kitchen and fired the ovens,
Hurried to Fractured Prune Donuts dimming the light.
For here at the Commander Hotel, not on this night,
Would St. Nick and his reindeer leave without a bite!
So it was through love and Christmas spirit.
They cooked and they cooked,
Making sure none could hear it.
The work that lay ahead for Santa
Was truly out of sight.
The team would do their part
And help him that night.
Upon his return appeared
A pile of donuts for each of his deer.
Now ready for the long night ahead,
Rudolf in the lead, his nose a bright red.
A fresh pizza awaited Santa,
With much work still do.
What a kind deed he could not repay.
Their stomachs now full, he sprang to his sleigh.
To his team he gave his signal, as all eyes, he met.
Away they all flew like an airshow week jet,
But they heard him exclaim, ere he flew out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
