We just visited the Fairfield Inn in Rehoboth, DE this past weekend. I can't recap this visit without mentioning Zachary "Zach" Hanna, the Front Desk Manager who checked me in upon arrival. I've been Marriott Silver Elite for years and I typically don't get any special treatment when I check in (90% of the time for business). Zach was especially chatty when I arrived, and I just happened to tell him we were in town celebrating my daughter's 4th birthday. He gave us an upgrade to a suite (I'd booked a
King) and the room was ready immediately. It was a much better fit for our two adult/two kids family and made the stay so much more enjoyable. Zach made note of my daughter's birthday and was very welcoming when my family checked in, and when we saw him in the lobby.
The next day, when we came back from the beach, there was a huge surprise in our room. Zach had sent up two birthday balloons, a huge bag of Haribo gummy bears and a card for our daughter. It was a great surprise and the sort of special touch that's really appreciated and validates my decision to stick with Marriott for the dozens of business trips I take a year. I can't say enough about this guy's dedication to customer service. We will absolutely be staying at this hotel every time we come back to Rehoboth.
Zach's professionalism just cemented this decision.
I would give this property 6 stars if I could, mostly because of Zach.
