The managers started “CartPolooza 2021” on Tuesday late afternoon by fetching nine housekeeping carts down to the ballroom at the end of the day to strip the carts down and give each a good cleaning, and they needed it.  Then Brian & Mike brought down several boxes of the items needed to stock the carts.  There are over 50 different items on a housekeeping cart, things like two kinds of soaps, shampoo, lotion, two different coffees, tea, pens, pads, two types of plastic bags, creamer, broom, mop, rollers, four chemical bottles, terry, a lot of linen & cleaning rags, etc. we could go on & on…  Thank you, Shelby, for going out Tuesday night to obtain the new containers to hold the different supplies on the carts.  Shelby and Kristi set up one sample cart, a well-organized / appropriately stocked cart, the “holy grail” of housekeeping carts.

Wednesday morning after the stand-up meeting is when the fun began! The room attendants had no idea what the managers had done the night before.  There was coffee and donuts for the entire team to enjoy before the competition.  They brought the housekeeping team (& other associates) into the ballroom, paired each manager with a room attendant, and associates from other departments joined in for the competition.  Each group worked together to stock their cart as organized as the (“holy grail”) model cart.  There was upbeat music to keep everyone moving and a prize for the winning team.

Great Job to the management team for making this happen; it was a huge success!
