A special shout-out to Sharie and the team at Hotel de Point for putting in the extra effort to make a young guests day, even when he wasn't feeling well! Great job guys!
"A family of three who’s been with us since 12/20/16 has a room right next to our lobby. They have a 7-year-old son who’s always peeking out the door to see when the houseman will be coming out with the popcorn machine. When he sees it coming out he would literally run towards the front desk asking me to pour him some popcorn. But for some reason, today he did not show up at all which I found very weird and I knew that they were still in house.
After an hour had passed I was still worried because from the time he’s been with us he always shows up for popcorn. So I took a small decorated blue bag and I filled it up with popcorn and in the front pocket of the bag, I placed a rice crispy treat as well as a packet of Oreo cookies that I had in my bag and I brought it to the room. When his mom opened the door, I asked her for him but she said he has been very sick with the flu and has been in bed watching TV all day. I told her that I had brought him some treats; on her face I could’ve seen that she was shocked yet excited to see her son’s reaction.
When I walked into the room I saw him all cuddled up in his comforter. At first, he was confused trying to figure out what I was doing in his room but when I pulled out that snack bag the look on his face was priceless. He got up and flew on me to give me a hug. My heart dropped when I saw the little boys’ reaction. At the end, his mom thanked me for showing such love and appreciation towards her son."
