A true act of holiday spirit kindness from the Fairfield Inn & Suites Times Square and Four Points Times Sqaure Teams! This is what hospitality and the season of giving is all about!
"On November 13th, our sales department received an urgent email from one of their biggest agency client that read: “This room is for my cousin Katie who has terminal brain cancer (she’s 43). Her and her husband plus their two kids (6 & 7) are trying to make it to the Christmas tree lighting – god willing at least.” The hotel provided a complimentary room as we began to prepare for this very special family. On November 27th, the Barrios family checked into the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Times Square Hotel. The sales team, along with our breakfast staff, housekeeping, engineering, admin and front desk went above and beyond to make what may be their mother’s last Christmas special. We had the guest upgraded to a penthouse suite. The team put up a Christmas tree and bought gifts for the children and put snacks and drinks in their suite. When the family arrived, they were welcomed by the entire management team. The next day the father said he cried as his family was overwhelmed by the generous hospitality. The next day, our sister hotel next door, Four Points Times Square Hotel arranged for the NYPD Patrol Van to personally pick up the Barrios Family in front of our hotel and escort them to the Rockefeller Center. The family was granted VIP access and front row seats to view the lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. The following afternoon the management team met the family in the lobby at 3 pm to greet them with hugs, kisses and a bouquet of flowers. Mrs. Barrios was overwhelmed with emotions and the husband thanked us over and over again for this special gift. What a great family! We wish them a lot of luck and a very Happy Holiday Season!!"
